Lynn Dunbar moved to Louisville in 1987, and has always enjoyed the excitement of Derby time. She received an undergraduate degree from Purdue University, a masters degree from University of Louisville, and worked in advertising agencies and corporate marketing prior to picking up the paintbrush. She lives in the vibrant historic neighborhood of Crescent Hill with her husband, and they enjoy family gathering with their five children.Her work highlights strong composition and colorful use of oil paints. She enjoys painting Kentucky landscapes and river scenes of the Belle, tugboats, and aerials of the Ohio River, along with Derby scenes. For enjoyment she hikes and bikes the areas she paints, and does yoga. For several years she has volunteered in various capacities for Norton Kosair Childrens Hospital. In honor of her son, she gives a percentage of her proceeds to Childhood Cancer Charities.She has won numerous local and national honors including grand prize from the Womens Club of Louisville, and Kentucky, Indiana, and Pennsylvania plein air events. Recently she was featured in the August/September Plein Air Magazine. Her work is displayed in corporate collections including Owensboro Hospital, Verizon, Omni Hotel, and Commonwealth Bank.
